All ages welcome!
Please meet at Hengistbury Head Car Park by the beach at 9:30am to collect a sack. There are cafes along the way for refreshments.
The route is approximately 5.6 miles, feel free to join at any point of the route! Further information
The route will start at Hengistbury Head Car Park 9:30am and will finish at Bournemouth Pier. The beach walk is approximately 5.6 miles and will take about 1hr 50mins in a straight line!
The beach walk passes Southbourne and Boscombe before reaching Bournemouth Pier.
Southbourne has a bistro on the beach for refreshments/toilets and Boscombe also has Urban Reef for refreshments/toilets stop before finishing at Bournemouth Pier. We would like to collate all the rubbish collected along the way from all the fantastic volunteers and take a picture at Bournemouth Pier so if possible please hang onto your sacks until the end!
If you are volunteering to do part of the route that is great too and if possible do take your own photos and upload to the event page.
Please bring your own sacks and gloves.
At the end of the event there are recycling and rubbish bins allocated by the Bournemouth Pier to dispose of your sack contents. Please note the event organiser is not responsible for the Health & Safety of the volunteers, children and dogs for the event or the disposal of rubbish collected. In the event of an emergency please contact the emergencies services. For information/location about parking at Hengistbury Head Car Park please go to: https://www.bournemouth.gov.uk/Parking/FindaCarPark/CarParks/HengistburyHeadCarPark.aspx We are hoping the Council will provide free parking for the volunteers. A notification will be sent out about this nearer the time of the event. By participating in this event you are not only helping to keep our beaches clean but our oceans too and you will be protecting marine life for healthier oceans for generations to enjoy.
